I'm a Roanoke, VA-based part-time freelance writer, photographer and designer. My full-time employment is with the Western Virginia Land Trust, a non-profit land preservation organization where I've worked as the project manager since October of 2006.
From 1997-2006, at I worked the Wicomico County Department of Recreation, Parks and Tourism as superintendent of the recreation department, with a six-month stint as director of marketing and public relations from 1997-98. Prior to that, I spent two years as a district executive with East Carolina Council of the Boy Scouts of America in Kinston, NC. From an educational standpoint, I have an M.S. from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania in park and resource management. My undergraduate degree is a B.S. in geography from James Madison University.
