I've been a serious part-time freelance writer since 2006, although I had written for various publications on and off for years prior to that. Currently I work for writing and publishing specialists Trade Press Services, based out of Thousand Oaks, CA. Through TPS, I've worked with a variety of clients in many industries, including a Fortune 500 company, to help them create informative articles and columns that appear in leading industry-specific publications.

I also currently write for Valley Business Front magazine, a new monthly business magazine covering the Roanoke Valley in Virginia, and the Roanoke Star-Sentinel, a weekly newspaper featuring local Roanoke, VA, news. I have also written for AT Journeys, the publication of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy, Blue Ridge Country, The Roanoker, and I had a column in the Salisbury, MD, Daily Times for a number of years. I'd write for more publications, but I just don't have the time (what a good problem to have!).

Through the course of my full-time employment with the East Carolina Council of the Boy Scouts of America, Wicomico County, MD, Department of Recreation, Parks and Tourism, and the Western Virginia Land Trust, I've created countless press releases, fundraising materials, grant applications, news articles, annual reports, technical reports, web copy, electronic newsletters, and much more.
